La Bird HK (“we”, “us”) runs labirdhk.com. This page explains what personal data we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, and how you can have it deleted. If you only read one section, read How to delete your data.
Who we are
La Bird HK, Hong Kong. For anything on this page, write to admin@labirdhk.com.
What we collect
- Account details you give us: name, email address, delivery address, phone number, and a password we store only as a hash.
- Order details: what you bought, when, the amount, and the delivery address.
- Payment: handled by our payment provider. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and the last four digits of the card. We never see or store your full card number.
- Messages you send us by email or through the site.
- Technical data: pages you visit, the browser and device you use, and your approximate location from your IP address. Some of this comes from cookies; see below.
Why we collect it
- To take payment, pack and deliver an order, and handle returns.
- To answer your questions and provide support.
- To keep records that Hong Kong tax and accounting rules require us to keep.
- To understand which pages and products people actually use, so we can improve the shop. This is aggregate, not a profile of you.
- To send you offers, but only if you asked for them. Every message has an unsubscribe link.
Who we share it with
Only the companies that help us run the shop, and only the part they need: our payment provider, our delivery partners, our hosting and email providers, and our analytics provider. We do not sell your data, and we do not pass it to advertisers to build profiles.
We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to protect our rights.
How long we keep it
Order and payment records are kept as long as Hong Kong tax and accounting rules require, which is currently seven years. Account details and marketing preferences are kept until you ask us to delete them. Support emails are kept for two years. Analytics data is kept in aggregate and is not tied back to you after 14 months.
Cookies
The site uses cookies that are needed to run: keeping your cart, keeping you signed in, and remembering your cookie choice. It also uses analytics cookies to count visits and see which pages are used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the essential ones will stop the cart and checkout from working.
Your rights
Under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance of Hong Kong you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your personal data;
- stop using your data for marketing.
We answer these requests within 40 days. We may ask you to prove you are the account holder before we act, so that we do not hand your data to someone else. We do not charge for a request.
How to delete your data
Send an email to admin@labirdhk.com with the subject line Delete my data. Please include:
- The email address on your account, or the email address you used to place the order.
- Your order number, if you have one. It is in your confirmation email and starts with the shop prefix.
- What you want deleted: everything, or only a particular part such as your account, your marketing preferences, or your browsing data.
What happens next:
- We reply within 5 working days to confirm we have your request. If we cannot tell it is you, we will ask for one more piece of evidence, such as the order date and amount.
- We delete the data within 30 days, and confirm by email when it is done.
- Deleting your account removes your profile, addresses, marketing preferences and browsing data. Your shopping cart is cleared.
What we cannot delete. Order and payment records have to be kept for the period Hong Kong tax law requires, even after you close your account. Those records stay in our accounting system, are used only for tax and legal purposes, and are deleted when that period ends. If you ask, we will tell you which records this applies to.
If you would rather not email, you can also write to us at the address on our contact page, or ask in the shop and we will start the same process.
Children
The shop is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to admin@labirdhk.com and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we email account holders before it takes effect.
